معرفی
Rik Rutjens is a Research Fellow in Soil Carbon at RMIT University's School of Environmental Science, affiliated with Dr. Samantha Grover's Soil-Atmosphere-Anthroposphere Lab. His expertise bridges applied mathematics and environmental science, focusing on soil carbon sequestration and sustainable agricultural practices. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham (UK) and advanced degrees from Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherlands).
Education:
- Bachelor's and Master's in Applied Mathematics, Eindhoven University of Technology
- PhD in Mathematics, University of Nottingham
Research Interests:
- Developing statistical methodologies for soil carbon measurement
- Optimizing sampling protocols for agricultural carbon credits
- Integrating spatial analysis with environmental modelling
- Mathematical approaches to sustainability challenges
His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals 2 (Zero Hunger), 13 (Climate Action), and 15 (Life on Land). Current projects focus on overcoming technical challenges in soil organic carbon quantification through advanced sampling strategies and mathematical frameworks.
