Riina Riihimäki

Riina Riihimäki serves as a Senior Lecturer and Project Manager at Turku University of Applied Sciences, where she is part of the Department of Social Services within the School of Social Services and Education. She is based at the Kupittaa Campus and contributes to the Social Inclusion and Active Citizenship research group.

Her research focuses on advancing social inclusion and active citizenship, with particular emphasis on:

• Mechanisms for integrating marginalized populations into society
• Policies and practices that foster civic engagement
• The role of social services in promoting well-being and equity

Through her work in the Social Inclusion and Active Citizenship research group, Dr. Riihimäki collaborates on projects aimed at developing innovative solutions to contemporary social challenges, with a commitment to evidence-based practice and community-centered approaches.
