Rifael Zvi Sol is a Research Fellow at Leiden University's Faculty of Science, affiliated with the Leiden Institute of Chemistry (LIC). His research focuses on catalysis and surface chemistry, particularly in energy & sustainability contexts. He is part of the Catalysis and Surface Chemistry group within the LIC/Energy & Sustainability division. Sol’s work involves advanced analytical techniques like operando electrochemical NAP-XPS for studying electrocatalytic processes. He holds a PhD and is based at the Gorlaeus Laboratory in Leiden.
His research interests span electrochemistry, catalytic materials, and sustainable energy systems. Recent contributions include developing laboratory-based systems for real-time electrocatalysis analysis, as evidenced by his 2024 publication in the Vacuum journal.
