Rick Woodward is a Senior Lecturer in International Business at the University of Edinburgh Business School, where he contributes to the Department of Strategy, Leadership and Organisations. His academic career spans three decades of research and teaching in entrepreneurship and organizational studies.

Rick's research focuses on transnational entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship in vulnerable contexts, and knowledge-based entrepreneurship in emerging economies. His work explores how diaspora networks and resource orchestration mechanisms enable entrepreneurial success, particularly in informal sectors and post-accession EU environments.
His scholarly output includes studies on institutional entrepreneurship, innovation strategies, and employee participation models. Key collaborations include work with researchers like Stoyanov and Stoyanova on diaspora network dynamics, and with Grabowski on innovation strategy frameworks.
