Rick Brayford is a Lecturer at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), Edith Cowan University, where he coordinates the Aboriginal Performance program. With over twenty years in Australian contemporary Indigenous theatre, he has directed more than thirty productions and facilitated new Indigenous work development.

Brayford has served as Assistant Supervisor for doctoral research in Nyoongar Theatre Text and has extensive mentoring experience, particularly through his three-year leadership of WAAPA's Aboriginal Music Theatre course in Broome.
