Richeal Burns

Richeal Burns is a Lecturer in Health Information Technology at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) and Principal Investigator at the Health and Biomedical Research Centre (HEAL). Her expertise lies in health economics, cancer survivorship, and chronic disease management, with current research focusing on self-management strategies for brain tumor patients and quality-of-life interventions for cancer survivors.

She serves on multiple university committees including Academic Council and Research Ethics, and supervises doctoral students in applied health economics. Her recent publications examine self-management barriers in glioma patients (2024) and systematic reviews of cancer survivorship interventions.
