Richard Scolyer

Professor Richard Scolyer AO is Co-Medical Director of the Melanoma Institute Australia and 2024 Australian of the Year. A University of Tasmania medical graduate, he has revolutionized melanoma treatment through immunotherapy research, increasing advanced melanoma survival rates from near-fatal to over 50%. After his own glioblastoma diagnosis, he pioneered a novel pre-surgical immunotherapy protocol now under clinical investigation.
