Richard Schubert

Richard Schubert is a mathematician currently serving as chief manager and researcher at the Institute for Applied Mathematics, University of Bonn. His academic work centers on applied analysis with a focus on partial differential equations and calculus of variations.

His research spans:

• PDEs in fluid mechanics
• Effective properties and mean-field limits for suspensions
• Non-Newtonian fluids
• Phase separation models and long-time behavior
• Geometric and free boundary evolutions

Integrating methodologies from fluid dynamics, kinetic theory, homogenization, and gradient flows theory, his work bridges theoretical analysis with physical applications in complex fluid systems.

As Principal Investigator of the French-German ANR-DFG project SUSPENSIONS, Schubert leads international collaborative research.
