Dr. Richard P. Ditteon serves as the Herman A. Moench Distinguished Professor of Physics and Optical Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and directs the Oakley Observatory, which maintains facilities both on campus and in Australia. An expert in astronomy and geometrical optics, his research spans asteroid astrometry and photometry, minor planet studies, variable star observations, and supernova detection using small telescopes. He co-directs the Accelerated Math Physics program for incoming freshmen and previously led Operation Catapult for high-school seniors.
