Richard Medcalf

Richard Medcalf is Professor of Higher Education and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students) at Newman University, leading student experience initiatives across the academic lifecycle. As Principal HEA Fellow, his academic work examines inclusive sport/physical activity access.

Research explores participation barriers for marginalized groups, SEN in physical education, and innovative assessment methods. Publications include the edited volume 'Researching Difference in Sport and Physical Activity' and studies on pedagogical approaches for students with behavioral difficulties.

External roles include chairing IncludeMeWM and serving Active Black Country as Vice Chair. His sports policy expertise informs regional inclusion strategies while maintaining CIMSPA Chartered Fellowship.
