Richard Marback is a Professor of English and Research Fellow at the Center for the Study of Citizenship at Wayne State University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago (1992), specializing in Language, Literacy, and Rhetoric. His research focuses on rhetorical theory, citizenship studies, and the historical development of rhetorical practices. He has authored or edited multiple books, including The Meaning of Citizenship (2015) and Managing Vulnerability (2012).
