Richard Logan

Professor Richard Logan is the Dean and Head of the Adelaide Dental School, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, at the University of Adelaide. He also holds the academic position of Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the University of Adelaide and serves as a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist at Clinpath Laboratories SA.

Education:

• Bachelor of Dentistry (1992)
• Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist (1997)
• PhD in Oral Side Effects of Oncology Treatment (2008), supervised by Professor Dorothy Keefe and Professor Stephen Sonis

Research Interests:

• Chemotherapy-induced mucositis
• Role of pro-inflammatory cytokines in mucositis development
• Comparative effects of cytotoxic drugs on mucositis

• Current Chief Examiner in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology for the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA)
• Past Chair of the RCPA Faculty of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Committee
