Dr. Richard Jones is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Edinburgh's School of Law. He holds a BA from Queen Mary University of London, an MSc from the University of Edinburgh, and a PhD from the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on surveillance, cybercrime, cybersecurity, and the sociological implications of punishment. He has contributed to major projects like the EPSRC-funded ACCEPT initiative and the EU's IRISS project on surveillance resilience. Jones serves on the editorial board of the British Journal of Criminology and has held visiting academic roles at the University of Oxford. His work bridges technological advancements with legal and ethical frameworks in crime control.
