Richard J. Grant is a Professor in the Leadership Department at the University of Miami's College of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on urban studies, environmental policy, and global urbanization, with particular emphasis on crime patterns, climate resilience, e-waste management, and maritime logistics. He has produced over 55 peer-reviewed publications since 1991.
Grant’s work frequently examines urban challenges in Africa and the Caribbean, such as Accra’s informal economies, Cape Town’s Airbnb dynamics, and PortMiami’s supply chain resilience.
