Richard House

Richard House is Associate Dean of Professional Development and Professor of English at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, affiliated with the Department of Humanities-Social Science-Arts. He holds a BA from Illinois Wesleyan University (1994), an MA (1996), and PhD (2000) from the University of California, Irvine.

His interdisciplinary research bridges engineering and humanities, focusing on:

• Technical communication strategies for engineers
• Ethical frameworks in engineering practice
• Literary analysis of contemporary American works
• Shakespearean adaptations in modern media
• Sustainable design pedagogy

His publications demonstrate consistent focus on rhetorical analysis in engineering contexts, with recent work examining entrepreneurship communication and environmental policy frameworks.

He co-founded Rose-Hulman's Home for Environmentally Responsible Engineering (HERE) program and co-advises the Alpha Phi Omega service organization.
