Richard H. Fallon is the Story Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and an Affiliate Professor in Harvard's Government Department. He joined the faculty in 1982, was promoted to full professor in 1987, and has held significant academic roles. Fallon earned degrees from Yale University (History, 1975), Yale Law School (1980), and Oxford University (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, 1977 as a Rhodes Scholar). Before academia, he clerked for Judge J. Skelly Wright and Justice Lewis F. Powell of the U.S. Supreme Court. His research focuses on constitutional law, federal courts, judicial review, and legal theory, with notable works like *The Nature of Constitutional Rights* (2019) and *Law and Legitimacy in the Supreme Court* (2018). Fallon has been honored with the Sacks-Freund Award twice and is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He teaches courses on federal courts and the Supreme Court's role in lawmaking. His scholarship addresses topics like originalism, stare decisis, and the intersection of law and political theory.
