Richard Field is Professor in the Department of Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Management at the University of Alberta's Alberta School of Business, and Director of the Peter Lougheed Leadership College. His research examines leadership paradigms, decision-making models, and organizational behavior dynamics, with foundational work on Vroom-Yetton leadership models and GLOBE project cultural studies.
Field's scholarship explores how leaders structure cooperative/competitive environments and how decision methods evolve in organizational contexts. Recent work differentiates leadership from management functions and analyzes technology's impact on leadership practices.
He teaches leadership development courses including 'Inspired to Dream', 'Inspired to Lead', and graduate-level Leadership Skills. Field received his PhD in organizational behavior and has industry experience in management consulting.
