Richard DeFrancisco is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer & Cyber Sciences at the University of Georgia’s School of Computer and Cyber Sciences. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Stony Brook University (2019) and a BS in Computer Science from the College of New Jersey (2010). His research focuses on Formal Methods, GPGPU acceleration, Concurrency, and Cyber-Physical Systems.

Research Interests: Dr. DeFrancisco specializes in leveraging GPU-based swarm verification techniques to enhance model checking of complex systems. His work bridges formal methods with high-performance computing, particularly in parallel algorithms and cyber-physical system analysis. Recent contributions include GPU-accelerated implementations of SPIN model checkers and applications of formal verification to biological systems like C. elegans.
