Richard A. Stafford is a Distinguished Service Professor of Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) since 2006. His career spans academia, government, and civic leadership, including roles as Chief Executive Officer of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development and senior positions in Pennsylvania Governor Dick Thornburgh’s administration. He holds a master’s degree in public policy from CMU (1972) and focuses teaching on the intersection of politics and policy-making at state/local levels.
