Rich Evans

Rich Evans is a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing at the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Mental Health Nursing, PgCert in Business Administration (NHS Leadership Pathway), PgCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). With over 22 years of experience across NHS, private sector, and higher education, his expertise spans patient safety, suicide prevention, forensic mental health, leadership, and mentoring.

His research focuses on improving healthcare practices in criminal justice settings, teaching methodologies, and professional development for nurses. He actively contributes to academic responsibilities at UWE and has published works on nursing in criminal justice services and related ethical/legal challenges.

Rich’s professional activities include coaching, preceptorship programs, and managerial roles in healthcare leadership. His work emphasizes bridging clinical practice with educational and institutional strategies to enhance patient outcomes and staff capabilities.
