University of Massachusetts Amherstمعرفی
Riccardo Pedrotti is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst's Department of Mathematics and Statistics. He completed his PhD at the University of Texas at Austin in 2024 under Timothy Perutz. His research focuses on symplectic geometry, low-dimensional topology, and Floer theory, with applications to geometric problems.
Education:
- PhD in Mathematics, University of Texas at Austin (2024)
Research Interests: He explores intersections between algebraic, differential, and low-dimensional topology, particularly using Floer theory to address geometric questions. Recent work includes studies on fixed-point Floer cohomology of Dehn twists and the stable classification of four-manifolds.
Teaching & Leadership: Pedrotti has taught multiple courses at UMass Amherst (e.g., Math 455, Math 233) and UT Austin. He co-organizes the 5 Colleges Geometry and Topology Seminar and led learning seminars on topics like Gompf-Stipsicz 4-manifold theory and Floer homology.
Labs/Teams: Active in organizing interdisciplinary seminars and collaborative research efforts in symplectic geometry and topology.
