Ricardo Chaves is affiliated with the Iscte Business School at ISCTE-IUL. He holds a Degree from the University of Lisbon, a Mini-MBA from institutions including McKinsey, INSEAD, Kellogg, and Harvard, and a postgraduate qualification in Applied Data Science from MIT. His professional career spans roles in finance, consulting, and technology innovation.
Key roles include leading the creation of BPI's Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (since 2022), reducing online fraud by over 50% at SIBS through AI implementation (2016), and co-leading McKinsey's Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning hub. He has also held positions as Associate Principal at McKinsey, led business development in a family office, and founded the top-ranked start-up Machrent.
His research interests focus on AI-driven solutions in finance and telecommunications, including hyper-personalization, predictive analytics, and generative AI applications. He received the 'Data Executive of the Year' award in 2023.
