معرفی
Ricardo Carrillo Muñoz is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Ecology, Environment and Geoscience at Umeå University. His work focuses on fluvial geomorphology, sediment transport dynamics in glaciated basins, and hydrological modeling in Chilean Patagonia. He is actively involved in the Wate2Place project, contributing to geomorphic restoration in mining-affected areas through advanced monitoring techniques.
Research Focus: Ricardo's expertise spans sediment transport (suspended and bedload), validation of hydrological models, and geomorphic approaches to landscape rehabilitation. His fieldwork includes continuous indirect monitoring and direct measurements in glaciated basins.
Projects:
- Wate2Place: Supports Work Packages 2 (reference site identification) and 5 (sediment yield assessment and geomorphic changes via photogrammetry/LiDAR).
- Hydrological Validation: Conducted studies on rivers in Chilean Patagonia.
Methodologies: Utilizes uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs), LiDAR, and photogrammetry for river mapping and sediment analysis.
