Ricardo Calderon Gonzalez is a Research Fellow at Queen's University Belfast's Wellcome Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine, focusing on nanovaccine development against listeriosis and cancer immunotherapy applications. His work integrates glycochemistry, immunology, and nanotechnology to design gold nanoparticle-based vaccines, with particular emphasis on maternal/neonatal protection and melanoma therapy.
Research combines peptide antigen delivery, novel adjuvants like Advax™ delta inulin, and preclinical models to evaluate vaccine efficacy against Listeria monocytogenes and tumors. Articles demonstrate consistent translational focus on bridging nanomaterial design with clinical immunology.
Dr. Calderon Gonzalez contributes to peer review for Frontiers in Immunology and Frontiers in Microbiology journals. His collaborations span international institutions including the Spanish National Research Council and Clinica Universidad de Navarra.
