Rhoda Sword is an Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences at Augusta University's Dental College of Georgia. She teaches pre-clinical occlusion, operative dentistry, and clinical courses to dental students, serving as course director for the Sophomore Block and D1 Treatment Planning Course. Her roles span D2/D3 clinic instruction, DXR, and Dental Anatomy and Occlusion courses.

Research interests focus on teeth bleaching techniques, composite resin restoration methodologies, and dental student mentorship programs aimed at developing future dental educators. Her scholarship includes clinical studies on tetracycline-staining treatments, bleaching efficacy during orthodontic care, and 3D imaging for caries diagnosis.
Selected honors include the DCG Teaching Excellence Award (2024), Most Valuable Faculty recognition (2024), and Fellowships in the Academy of General Dentistry (2021) and American College of Dentists (2017). She actively contributes to institutional governance through multiple university and college committees.
