Dr. Rhiannon Brooks is a Lecturer in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Science at London Metropolitan University, affiliated with the School of Human Sciences. She holds a Chemsitry with Medicinal Chemistry MChem (Hons) from the University of Warwick, followed by a Master's in Analytical Science and a PhD in Molecular Analytical Science from Warwick. Her research focuses on applying solution-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and spectroscopic techniques to study membrane-active peptides and membrane-curvature responsive peptides for drug delivery and diagnostics. Dr. Brooks is also deeply involved in science communication, outreach, and widening participation initiatives.
Her teaching responsibilities include courses such as Chemistry BSc (Hons), Natural Sciences (Chemistry), and Pharmaceutical Science MSci. She previously held a research fellowship at the University of Warwick's Institute of Advanced Study and served as an associate lecturer at London Metropolitan University before her current role.
Dr. Brooks' scientific contributions span analytical chemistry, membrane biology, and biophysics, with publications in journals like Chembiochem, Scientific Reports, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. She has been recognized with the Institute of Advanced Study Research Fellowship at the University of Warwick.
