Rey Conquer

Dr. Rey Conquer is a Teaching Fellow at Queen Mary University of London's Department of Modern Languages and Cultures, specializing in German literature and visual culture. He holds a DPhil in German from Oxford and has taught part-time while producing interdisciplinary research on media translation, religion, and avant-garde studies. His work bridges literature, art, and theology, including monographs on German modernist poetry and co-edited journal issues on imagining others' beliefs in German literature.

Research interests include intersections of poetry and architecture, religious belief in secular contexts, and queer morality. Publications span academic essays, poetry, and reviews in TLS, Art+Christianity, and LA Review of Books. Public engagement includes BBC Radio 3 discussions on concrete poet-monk Dom Sylvester Houédard and podcast appearances dissecting travel writing.
