Reuben Merringer

Reuben Merringer is an Adjunct Instructor in the Masters IXD program within the School of Humanities and Sciences at ArtCenter College of Design. A multidisciplinary artist, musician, and writer, his practice centers on exploring liminal and ambiguous spaces through visual, auditory, and textual forms.

His work investigates gray areas—thresholds between states, media, and perceptions—seeking to identify what kinds of sensory objects emerge in these in-between realms. Rooted in experimental and interdisciplinary approaches, his creative research spans visual art, sound composition, and literary expression.

Reuben earned his MFA from ArtCenter College of Design's GradArt program in 2018 and has been active in the Los Angeles art scene since 2009. As an adjunct faculty member, he contributes to the development of emerging artists and designers engaged in boundary-pushing, integrative practices.
