Reto Torti

Reto Torti is a Lecturer in Educational Sciences at the Department of Education and Learning, University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) in Locarno. He has been teaching at SUPSI's Higher Education School since 2008, focusing on teacher training and educational sciences.

His educational background includes an elementary school teacher qualification from Locarno (1993) and a university degree from the University of Fribourg (2005) in pedagogy, psychology, and communication studies. Prior to his academic position, he gained extensive practical experience as a classroom teacher and through educational projects focused on student integration.

Torti's research interests span educational sciences, psychopedagogy, and teacher training, with particular focus on student motivation and integration of problematic students. His notable project 'Children, design, and neighborhood appropriation' examines home-school pedestrian routes from children's perspectives, reflecting his interest in how educational environments extend beyond classroom walls.

His methodological expertise includes both qualitative and quantitative research approaches in educational contexts, and he brings substantial practical experience from his years working directly in Ticino's school system before transitioning to teacher education.
