Reto Nebel is a Lecturer at ETH Zürich's Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering, where he also serves as a postdoctoral research fellow. His roles include teaching courses like 'Economical Land Use' and supervising Bachelor, Master, and Master of Advanced Studies theses. He holds a PhD in Spatial Development from ETH Zürich (2009–2013) and a Diplom in Geomatic Engineering (1999–2005).
His research focuses on spatial planning, settlement area management, and sustainable governance. Notable projects include the 'Raum +' series analyzing land use potential in Swiss cantons, the 'Siedlungsflächenmanagement Schweiz' dissertation, and work on infrastructure development frameworks like SIDAIA. He has led projects for EBP Schweiz AG and collaborated with institutions like the Swiss Federal Office of Spatial Development.
