Reto Dorta

Reto Dorta is an Honorary Research Fellow at the School of Molecular Sciences, The University of Western Australia. He holds a doctoral degree from the Weizmann Institute of Science (2002) and has held academic positions including Associate Professor (2011) and Professor (2014) in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UWA. His research focuses on organometallic chemistry and catalysis, particularly designing chiral and non-chiral ligand systems for transition metal complexes.

Education: BSc from the University of Neuchatel and University of Salerno; PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Science; postdoctoral research at the University of New Orleans and California Institute of Technology.

Research Interests: Development of transition metal complexes for catalytic applications, ligand design for enhanced reactivity and enantioselectivity, and applications in organic synthesis. His work emphasizes new catalytic transformations with improved selectivity and broader substrate scope.

Grants: Recipient of ARC grants for projects like 'Nickel Catalysed Electrochemical C-H Activation' and 'New Chiral Metal Catalysts.'
