René Schmidt

René Schmidt is a Researcher at the Faculty of Computer Science, Chair of Digital Signal Processing and Circuit Technology, at Technische Universität Chemnitz. Since 2015, he has been affiliated with the DFG research training group 'CrossWorlds – Connecting virtual and real social worlds' focusing on interdisciplinary research in computer science and social sciences.

The DFG-funded CrossWorlds group (2012–2018) provided a platform for his interdisciplinary work, with presentations at IEEE ICCE and AAL-Kongress. His projects like OPDEMIVA demonstrate technology-oriented solutions for real-world healthcare challenges, bridging virtual and physical interaction spaces.
