Renzo Cecere, MD is a Scientist at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) and Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill University. He is affiliated with the Cardiovascular Health Across the Lifespan Program and Centre for Translational Biology.
His research focuses on stem cell-based cardiac repair and regeneration after myocardial infarction, investigating bioactive scaffolds and stem cell secretome therapeutics to prevent heart failure progression. Key areas include heart assist devices, mitral valve repair, and medical device design for cardiovascular applications.
Dr. Cecere leads the Heart-in-a-Dish research initiative modeling cardiac conditions to advance regenerative medicine approaches within the RI-MUHC's Surgical and Interventional Sciences framework.
