Renee Vaughan Sutherland

Renee Vaughan Sutherland is a part-time Lecturer in Art Direction at Kingston University's School of Creative and Cultural Industries, Department of Creative Industries, while maintaining active industry engagement as a Creative Director for a London-based agency.

Her educational background includes First-Class Honours in Fine Art from Middlesex University and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Her creative practice spans art direction, filmmaking, and spatial narrative exploration, with work exhibited internationally at institutions including BFI, Focal Point Gallery, and Camden Arts Centre.

Renee's research centers on how bodies inhabit space and carry narratives within landscapes, approached through collaborative community engagement and embodied storytelling. She investigates representation gaps in creative sectors, evidenced by her founding of the 'Greater than 11%' podcast platform (2018-2021) amplifying marginalized voices.
