Renaud Petit is a Lecturer at iaelyon School of Management, Jean Moulin University, Lyon, France. He has been the Teaching Manager of the Master 2 in Socio-economic and Environmental Responsibility of Organizations (RSEEO) since 2016 and Head of the Master 2 Social Audit, Stakeholder Social Responsibility, Ethics and Sustainable Development (AS RSPP). He is actively involved in research through the Socio-economic Management Research Group at the Magellan Laboratory and has over 20 years of experience in intervention research at ISEOR.
His research focuses on organizational attractiveness and loyalty, intergenerational management, and the socio-economic performance of very small enterprises (VSEs) and local SMEs. He explores how these small businesses contribute to the vitality of their territories, often operating as 'miniaturized complex enterprises' despite their size. His work emphasizes practical, action-oriented research to improve managerial practices and organizational transformation, particularly in the health and social sectors.
Renaud Petit is a member of several professional associations, including the Academy of Management, AGRH, ADERSE, and IAS. He co-edited the 2025 book Vitality and Sustainable Prosperity of Very Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, which presents findings from decades of research-intervention in nearly 1,000 SMEs. The book highlights managerial issues such as governance, succession, cost-performance recycling, team cohesion, and quality of work life.
He previously taught at the IUT of Besançon before joining iaelyon. His recent work emphasizes the strategic and social value of local small businesses and their potential for sustainable transformation. He collaborates with key figures in socio-economic management, including Henri Savall and Véronique Zardet.
Renaud Petit has not been mentioned as receiving any scientific awards. He does not appear to have any listed PhD or Master’s students in the provided texts. His research is deeply embedded in the ISEOR network, which supports organizational change through socio-economic measurement tools like CHVACV (Hourly Contribution to Added Value on Variable Costs).
