Renato Vidoni is a Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, specializing in Applied Mechanics, Mechatronics, and Robotics. He holds an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Udine, Italy. His research focuses on high-performance automated systems, optimal robotic motion planning, and nature-inspired engineering solutions.
He teaches courses such as Mechanics of Machinery and Mechanics of Machines and Mechanism for Automation in the Bachelor of Industrial and Mechanical Engineering program. With over 150 international publications, his work addresses energy efficiency, vibration control, and collaborative robotics.
Recent projects include the HULK electric self-driving crane (2024) and contributions to agricultural automation research showcased at the Agri-Automation Symposium (2024).
