Renata Ferrari Legorreta is a Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, affiliated with the Australian Centre for Field Robotics and the School of Biological Sciences. Her work focuses on understanding marine habitat dynamics, particularly within and outside marine protected areas, emphasizing spatial and temporal biodiversity patterns. She utilizes novel technologies like AUV stereo imagery and 3D modeling to study structural complexity of marine ecosystems and their response to climate change. Her research spans ecological questions across multiple scales, aiming to elucidate ecosystem function and resilience under climatic shifts.
Renata holds a PhD from the University of Queensland. Her recent contributions include media releases on coral reef genetics and climate change impacts on fisheries and vulnerable populations. She collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to integrate robotics and ecological data for conservation applications.
