Renata Curina serves as an external lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna since 2017, teaching Cultural Heritage Legislation. Previously, she led the Protection Office at the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape of Bologna (2002-2020), overseeing archaeological protection across Rimini, Bologna, Reggio Emilia, and provincial territories including the ancient city of Claterna while directing multi-period excavations from prehistory to modern era.
Her research centers on Archaeology and Cultural Heritage, with specialized expertise in Environmental Archaeology, Architectural Conservation of medieval/Renaissance structures, and Cultural Heritage Legislation. She contributed to regional archaeological potential mapping, restoration of civil/religious architectural complexes, and museum exhibition projects while mentoring students on thesis work related to excavation methodologies and heritage conservation.
Curina has co-supervised degree and master's theses for students from Venice, Bologna, and Naples universities alongside the Academy of Fine Arts, and organized the School-Work Alternation projects (2016-2018) with Galvani, Belluzzi, and Salvemini schools to provide practical heritage conservation training.
