Professor Rekha Koul serves as Deputy Head and Discipline Lead at the STEM Research Group within the School of Education at Curtin University, Australia. With nearly four decades of teaching and research experience, she holds significant leadership roles including convening the biannual International Conference on Science, Mathematics and Technology Education (icSTEM). Her professional portfolio encompasses multiple editorial board memberships and elected positions in major educational research associations.
Her research focuses on classroom learning environments, STEM education, and teacher-student relationships, with particular emphasis on gender differences, emotional climate, and diversity in educational contexts. Her work spans multiple countries including Australia, India, Indonesia, and South Korea, often addressing conflict-affected zones and cross-cultural educational challenges.
Analysis of her 15 most recent publications reveals consistent themes in STEM learning environment measurement, gender dynamics in education, and instrument validation across diverse cultural settings.
