Reinhard Geßl

Reinhard Geßl is a researcher at the Institute of Livestock Sciences within the Department of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). His work focuses on sustainable agricultural systems, particularly examining the integration of livestock production within broader farming frameworks and their environmental implications.

Geßl is currently involved in the MIXED project (Multi-Actor and Transdisciplinary Development of Efficient and Resilient Mixed Farming and Agroforestry Systems), which runs from March 2021 to February 2025 and is funded by the European Commission. This transdisciplinary initiative aims to develop more resilient agricultural systems through collaborative approaches that integrate knowledge from researchers, farmers, and other stakeholders across Europe.
