Reimer Ivang is a Guest Researcher at the Department of Communication and Psychology within The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Aalborg University. His research focuses on digitalization strategy, innovation management, circular economy, and competitive advantage in SMEs. He has led or participated in 10 major projects since 2001, including initiatives on digital transformation, internationalization of SMEs, and educational methodologies like Problem-Based Learning (PBL).
Notable research contributions include works on sustainable business models, the impact of e-commerce on traditional retail, and the role of digital natives in organizational settings. He co-authored the 2025 book Forestillingskraft: Tag ansvar og skab ny vækst, exploring imaginative forces in business growth.
His work has received recognition through two Ivey Publishing Bestseller Awards (2024) for case studies on circular economy strategies. He actively engages with industry through talks on digital megatrends, leadership, and AI in marketing. Ivang has collaborated with institutions across Denmark, Poland, Egypt, India, and China through projects like the SINET internationalization network.
Advisory activities include supervising one PhD student and contributing to educational initiatives such as feedback structures in project-based learning. His research outputs span 44 publications across books, reports, and peer-reviewed articles, addressing themes from digital strategy frameworks to sustainability in regional businesses.
