Reiko Hashimoto is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of East Asian Languages at the University of Oregon, affiliated with the School of Global Studies and Languages within the College of Arts and Sciences. She teaches advanced Japanese language courses, including 4th-year Spoken Japanese, and provides advising for Japanese majors and minors.
Her research and teaching interests focus on effective language pedagogy, with an emphasis on developing students' linguistic and cultural communicative competence. She advocates for learner independence through strategic instruction and culturally responsive teaching practices.
Reiko Hashimoto has taught a range of courses from first-year to fifth-year Japanese, as well as graduate-level instruction, demonstrating extensive experience in curriculum delivery across proficiency levels.
She is actively engaged in teaching and student support, maintaining regular office hours and direct communication channels.
