Regoni Maria

Regoni Maria is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology (SSD/BIO-14) at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Faculty of Medicine. She holds a PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of Brescia (2017) and a Master’s in Medical Biotechnology (2012). Her research focuses on neurodegenerative mechanisms, particularly synaptic alterations and molecular pathways in Parkinson’s Disease and related disorders. She has held postdoctoral roles at the Laboratory of Neuropsychopharmacology (2017–2023) and was a visiting scientist at the University of Ferrara’s Pharmacology Department in 2018.

Her teaching includes Pharmacology courses for Nursing, Biotechnology, and Medicine programs since 2020. Her work emphasizes validating new therapeutic targets like kainate receptors in neurodegenerative models. Recent publications (2020–2024) explore dopamine neuron dysfunction, necroptosis in Parkinsonism, and gene therapy approaches for epilepsy.
