Reginald Bowens is an Assistant Professor of Music in Jazz Studies and Coordinator of Vocal Jazz Studies at Howard University's College of Fine Arts, Department of Music. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) from the Eastman School of Music, specializing in Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media with focuses in Jazz Piano, Composition, Music Education, and Arts Leadership.
A professional vocalist and arranger, Bowens has collaborated with artists like Bobby McFerrin and Smokey Robinson. He founded A Cappella Camp in 2013 and previously taught at The Music Settlement, Cuyahoga Community College, and Cleveland State University, where he pioneered jazz voice and gospel piano curricula.
