Reg Urbanowski serves as Dean of the College of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Manitoba, holding dual roles as Professor and occupational therapist. His work focuses on healthcare technology, public policy, and equitable service delivery for rural/remote and Indigenous communities. He previously held leadership roles at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Husson University, and multiple Canadian universities, with government experience in Saskatchewan's Ministry of Advanced Education.
Education includes a Doctor of Education from West Virginia University and dual Master's/Bachelor's degrees in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alberta. He has authored over 90 peer-reviewed works, delivered keynote addresses globally, and received the Best Visiting Professor Award from the Netherlands' World International Centre of Excellence.
Research emphasizes technology's role in healthcare accessibility, policy impacting underserved populations, and aging-in-place solutions via projects like the University of Manitoba Technology for Assisted Living Project (TALP). Though currently not accepting students, his career spans decades of academic leadership and policy engagement.
