Rebekka Biedendieck

PD Dr. Rebekka Biedendieck is a Private Lecturer at the Institute of Microbiology and Braunschweig Center for Systems Biology (BRICS) at the Technical University of Braunschweig. She leads a research group focused on microbial production systems and biotechnology. Her academic journey includes a Diploma in Biotechnology (1997-2003) and a PhD (2003-2006) from TU Braunschweig, followed by postdoctoral research in the UK. Since 2010, she has headed her research group, exploring recombinant protein production and microbial systems biology.

Her teaching responsibilities include courses such as Biotechnological Production of Valuable Materials and Molecular Microbiology. Her research spans topics like Bacillus megaterium applications, protein secretion mechanisms, and systems biology approaches to optimize microbial production processes.

Rebekka Biedendieck has held a Research Fellowship from the German Research Foundation (DFG) and has been affiliated with BRICS since 2013. She collaborates internationally, including with the University of Kent (UK). Her work bridges fundamental microbiology with industrial biotechnology applications.
