Professor Rebekah Moles is a Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the Sydney Pharmacy School, University of Sydney. She holds roles as Deputy Head of School and Director of Academic Education within the Faculty of Medicine and Health. Her research focuses on medication safety, particularly for vulnerable populations including the elderly and children, and First Nations Health. She leads government-funded trials such as the #STOP trial to reduce osteoporosis-related falls through pharmacist-led interventions.
Education: Completed her PhD in Private Hospital Pharmacy Services, with expertise in medication education and transition-of-care strategies. She has pioneered the Medication Education Service (MES) to reduce post-discharge medication burdens.
Research Interests: Includes pediatric and geriatric medication management, osteoporosis treatment optimization, and culturally safe pharmacy practices for Indigenous Australians. Active in curriculum design, teaching professional practice, and interprofessional education.
Awards: Recipient of the APSA Medal of Merit 2024. Current projects include improving medication dosing for children, adapting cultural safety training in pharmacy education, and evaluating post-discharge medication reviews in rural areas.
Grants & Advising: Supervises seven doctoral students exploring topics like First Nations cultural safety, osteoporosis medication adherence, and perinatal mental health care. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams on national and international health initiatives.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Sydney Pharmacy School's medication safety and health equity research programs. Involved in the Charles Perkins Centre's health equity initiatives and global pharmacy practice collaborations through the World Hospital Pharmacy Research Consortium.
