Rebekah Luong

Rebekah Luong serves as a Clinical Instructor and Interim Chair in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). She teaches courses such as FCS Professional Practice and Consumer Problems in Clothing, and oversees the FCS Program as its director. Additionally, she coordinates the Bachelor of Science in FCS Internships and advises the UCA student chapter of the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) and the NFS Student Ambassadors.

Rebekah holds a BSE in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and an MS in Family and Consumer Sciences from UCA. Her expertise spans FCS education, career and technical education, and community engagement. She actively contributes to professional organizations, serving as treasurer of the Arkansas AAFCS affiliate and volunteering with the Central Arkansas Alzheimer’s Association.

Her research and professional interests focus on enhancing FCS education, advocating for consumer sciences, and promoting health education through practical, hands-on learning. She emphasizes bridging academic theory with real-world applications in community settings.

Rebekah’s service roles include advising student organizations and fostering collaboration between academic programs and local communities. She prioritizes mentorship, guiding students through internships and professional development opportunities. Outside academia, she enjoys family time and culinary pursuits.
