Dr. Rebekah Eden is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Queensland (UQ) Business School and an affiliate of the Queensland Digital Health Centre. She holds a PhD from 2017 and has extensive experience in healthcare information systems research. Her roles include post-doctoral research at UQ, senior lecturer at Queensland University of Technology (2018–2022), and current position in UQ’s Health Research Accelerator Initiative. She is a member of the Future of Health Research Hub.
Her research focuses on digital healthcare transformation, including governance, data quality, and system impacts. Methodologically, she uses mixed methods: qualitative case studies, interviews, and quantitative surveys. Key outputs include work on eHealth impacts, digital maturity models, and healthcare data imperfections. She has published in journals like MIS Quarterly Executive, Journal of Medical Internet Research, and Medical Journal of Australia.
Her editorial roles include serving on the Communications of the AIS board and guest editing for multiple journals/conferences. Research collaborations emphasize rural healthcare outcomes, digital health cost-justification, and institutional theory applications in healthcare systems.
