Rebeccah Brusca, MD, MPH is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and an academic hospitalist at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG). She is actively involved in medical education, serving as the Site Director for the Internal Medicine Residency at ZSFG and as a Bridges coach with the UCSF School of Medicine. She is also the Associate Medical Director of the UCSF Human Rights Collaborative, where she conducts forensic medical evaluations for asylum seekers.

Dr. Brusca earned her M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (2015), completed residency in Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital Osler Program (2018), and holds an M.P.H. from the University of Ghana, School of Public Health (2009), with a focus on Population, Family, and Reproductive Health. She also completed the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Champion Training at UCSF in 2020.
Her academic interests center on medical education, health equity, and asylum medicine. Her research spans HIV-related cardiovascular disease, critical care outcomes, interstitial lung disease, and public health disparities. She has been involved in major cohort studies such as the Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study (MACS) and the ARIC study, contributing to understanding chronic disease in vulnerable populations.
Her 15 most recent publications reflect a strong trend in cardiovascular complications in HIV, critical care outcomes, and health equity. Topics include subclinical atherosclerosis in HIV patients, performance of ICU prediction models, and health disparities in surgical and infectious disease outcomes. Her work combines clinical insight with epidemiological rigor, often focusing on underserved populations.
